The Band
We are a 5 piece band, 2 of the members are from Almonte (Iain Clogg on lead vocals, rhythm guitar, and mandolin and backup vocals/manager is Joanne), the drummer is Roger Clogg from Carleton Place. On bass is Kevin Murphy from Godfrey Ontario, and the lead guitarist is Colin Mills from the Nepean School of Music in Ottawa and Hummingbird Recording Studios. We are primarily Country but have a few classic rock as well.
The History
Hope Street Band started as a trio in early 2003, and ramped up quickly to its current 5-peice configuration. First gigs were at the Ashton Pub and that quickly grew to other pubs, bars, restaurants, legions, dances, private events, and festivals in the Ottawa Valley Region.
The current line-up is Iain Clogg (6/12 guitar, mandolin & vocals), Joanne Clogg (vocals) manager, Colin Mills on (lead guitar), Roger Clogg (drums) and Kevin Murphy on bass.
Hope Street Band was also built with the talents and dedication of the following folks: George Turcotte, Ross Taylor, Rick Picard, Doug Gilchrist, Gary MacLaren, Chito Salazar, Sam Venson, & Ross Williamson, who we all owe many thanks.
The August long weekend of 2006 found them on the main stage at Riverside Jam, a major event held annually in Carleton Place, Ontario, to very positive reviews. Hope Street Band are also available to do weddings and private parties, and without a doubt, will leave you humming a tune as you rub your feet from dancing so much.
